Kate Sydney Mann
Kate Sydney Mann is a member of the firm's transactional tax practice.
Kate has experience advising, structuring, and implementing corporate and partnership acquisitions and dispositions, including taxable and tax-free mergers and stock and asset transactions. Kate also has experience in the formation and financing of investment funds, corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies, as well as corporate restructurings and reorganizations. She has advised start-up companies as well as private and public mid-cap and large international entities, and has experience advising her clients with respect to tax issues arising in both inbound and outbound international transactions. She has advised her clients with respect to:
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Investment fund formations and operations, including international compliance and reporting issues
- Debt financing transactions
- Equity and debt offerings, including IPOs
- Equity compensation arrangements
Kate received her J.D. from Stanford Law School and her B.A. in English and Linguistics with Highest Distinction from the University of California, at Berkeley. Prior to joining Pacific Tax and Compensation Counsel, Kate practiced in the Business Tax Group at O’Melveny & Myers LLP, the oldest law firm in Los Angeles and one of the largest and most respected law firms in the world. Kate was voted a "Rising Star" in 2018 by Southern California Super Lawyers, and she co-authored "Tax Issues in Taxable Acquisition of Private Companies," USC Gould School of Law Sixty-Third Institute on Federal Taxation – Major Tax Planning 2011.
